Jacopo
Back in June of 2015 we were lucky enough to be invited by the good folk at Vans to savour the delights of their legendary Spring Classic in Riccione, Italy. The setting was a beautiful Adriatic beach to the north of the town, the complimentary refreshments were never ending and the moment that Grant Taylor turned up unannounced will forever be burnt into our memories.
But one thing that stood head and shoulders above the rest was the appearance of a young Italian kid who had ventured over alone from Milan - a good 200 miles if you know your Italian geography - with nothing but his board and a high viz jacket for a hint of additional flair. Watching that lad stand out in a line-up containing the likes of the aforementioned Grant Taylor, our own Jordan Thackeray and a pre-tattoo Aurelien Giraud, was an eye opening experience and that night, at dinner, Jacopo Carrozzi was all anyone could talk about.
Fast forward nine years and Baker pro Jacopo is one of the most exciting talents in the world. Whilst he may be on the full Nike roster, he keeps his social media more than a little quiet, so when footage of him turns up, like this brand-new part for his shoe sponsor, you know we're gonna celebrate it. And we reckon you will too!
