Down Straight Up!
You have to hand it to Monster; whilst many energy drink company's involvement with skateboarding is fleeting, the big Green M has been financing all sorts of endeavors within our crazy world for well over a decade and it's no exaggeration to say their full team is one of the most stacked in the biz.
Vol.1 of their latest video series 'Down Straight Up! was released over on Thrasher earlier this week and to dismiss it owing to the non-core nature of the financier is to do both the skaters and Monster Energy themselves a huge disservice.
We all know Giovanni Vianna is a fakie god, so seeing another street part from him is a real treat, and Jhancarlos Gonzales opening part is punk rock tech-gnar attack for the ages. But the cold hard reality of this video is that it's all about Emerica and Creature madman Kevin Baekkel's double header with Birdhouse's Felipe Nunez. From Felipe's full throttle tech to Baekkel grinding possibly the biggest rail ever, this is brutal from the first second to the last. You have been warned!
