5 Ones To Watch at the Olympics
The Olympics are well on their way, bringing Skateboarding into the games for the first ever time. It all kicks off this Sunday with the Mens Street, so here's a few riders we think will be picking up medals and making headlines this summer.
NYJAH HOUSTON- USA- SREET
Sponsors- Nike Sb, thunder, Ricta, Disorder skateboards, Monster, Priverevaux Eyewear, Mob, Diamond
The poster boy for competition skateboarding. He is quite literally built for the Olympics, after spending most of his career dominating competitions. He is consistent and has an insane trick selection, so will have no problem finding lines in the new Olympic Skatepark. As a seasoned competitive skater, Nyjah plays strategy, knowing how he can score points easily. Rails and stair sets are a favourite, winning Dew tour this summer with ease.
OSKAR ROZENBERG-SWEEDEN- PARK
Sponsors- Nike SB, Polar, Spitfire, Ace Trucks, Modus, Jessup
AKA Oski, has incredible flow with style for miles and one of the best transition skateboarders out there. He can always find the fastest route to give more speed and air around the course that can be mixed with his endless bag of tricks. Guaranteed Oski will try and get tricks on every wall!
SKY BROWN-GB- PARK
Sponsors- Nike SB, Almost, Hurley, Grizzly Grip, Tensor Trucks
Team GB's biggest hope in Skateboarding and their youngest ever Summer Olympian. Fresh from winning gold at the Summer X Games, all eyes will be on Sky in Tokyo. Despite being young Sky is consistent, clean and is really great at building runs together with some huge tricks that are rarely seen in women's competitions.
YUTO HORIGOME- JAPAN- STREET
Sponsors- April, Venture, Nike SB, Spitfire, G-Shock
One of Japan's biggest threats, with the most creative street skaters in the competition. Yuto may be quiet and calm but packs a punch with his runs. Probably Nyjah's biggest competition this summer with his biggest point wins also being stairs and rails
LIZZY ARMANTO- FINLAND- PARK
Sponsors - Vans, Birdhouse, Bones, Independent, Bro Style,
The poster girl for Vans skateboarding, Lizzie will be repping Finland in the games this year, no stranger to competitions with an impressive year in Vans Park Series and X Games in 2019. Her tick selection is more old school than others in the competition but is always super entertaining.
