Vans x Thrasher
With two time-tested and respected giants of the skate industry coming together, this Vans x Thrasher Summer 2017 collaboration sounded like pure fire - and we’re definitely not disappointed.
The collection features footwear across Vans most classic and popular styles, tees, hood and accessories, all featuring mash-up branding of Thrasher’s Flame and Vans’ Off The Wall logos. Both brands are enjoying a huge uplift in popularity and desirability currently, and the range reflects this with key, classic pieces wearable for a range of different styles. The vibe is distinctive and punchy without being brash or unnecessary.
The footwear portion of the drop is extremely wearable – the timeless Vans Class Slip On and Sk8-Hi are given the full flame treatment, presented across suede and canvas and featuring well-conceived details, like red sole lines and rubber Thrasher Skategoat tongue logo. For a more understated look, the Sk8-Hi and new style UltraRange Pro are shown in subtle almost all-black colourways, with the SK8-Hi nicely detailed with gum leather and gum sole, finished with Vans x Thrasher branding.
The rest of the range consists of key pieces branded with hybrid logos and detailing: pocket tees, coach jackets, long sleeves finished with tonal checkerboard sleeve details, and hood placement Flame Logo prints create a comprehensive and wearable collection which remains classic and authentic. The accessories also are impressive, featuring a highly functional quality skatepack with subtle tonal Thrasher and Vans branding and trucker cap finish this collab off perfectly.
