Route One: The Great Island Of Dogs
During the midst of November, right in the thick of bleak, grey and wet winter predicted forecasts, we jetted off along with Sidewalk magazine, to the sunny Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Armed with no sun block, badly packed luggage, an array of joggers and pockets full of beer tokens we headed off on our escapade to make the most of the rare opportunity of being sun burned through winter.
Quickly adapting to the islands ways, by rallying through mountain passes, divulging in the local alcoholic delicacy 'Tropical lager' and being typical English tourists, unsurprisingly we fit right in.
The island can be a place of natural beauty or a tourist trap eye sore, so being the well cultured humans we are, we quickly set about missions up and down the short coasts of the island, stopping off at classic spots every skateboarder would be instantly familiar with, as well as more unseen/un-rinsed jackpots we skated thanks to good eagle eyes and the local knowledge hook ups from dudes at Voyka skate shop
All in all the trip was a huge success and more importantly a bloody good laugh.
Thanks to everyone involved,
Route One... X
