R1 At Boardmasters
Last weekend a crew of us from R1 HQ headed down to Newquay for the annual Boardmasters Festival.
After four days of surfing it was time for the skating and BMX comps to get underway over the weekend. Representing the R1 skate team were Nicky Howells, Snaddon and Manhead. Manhead won gnarliest trick on the mini ramp. On the street course he also came 2nd in the best trick comp on Sunday. Snaddz came in at 3rd place for best trick on the Saturday.
Up at the Watergate Bay site, acts such as Maverick Sabre, Ed Sheeran, Donavon Frankenreiter and Sway entertained the crowds, culminating in a headline performance from Dizzee Rascal on the Saturday night, mixing it up with his tunes, and classics from the likes of MJ, it was a great set. Also canât forget a shout out to all those crazy dudes mashing it up down at the Marley Stage!!! Thankfully the weather held out for the majority of the weekend, now back to the reality of a Mondayâ¦. :-(.
