Paul Rodriguez '20 and Forever'
Few people can lay claim to the longevity of career Paul Rodriguez has enjoyed. Initially finding fame as part of Kareem Campbell's infamous City Stars roster, before jumping ship to Girl, it was twenty years ago this week that Paul first tasted the life of a pro skater and this piece for his personal YouTube channel celebrates the anniversary (and the highlights of the two decades in between).
Looking back over archive footage, much of it preceding his days in the pro ranks, Paul casts a retrospective eye across the achievements in his life thus far and humbly reviews the fortune that has come his way.
Covering both his competitive accomplishments and his graft on the streets, this acts not only as a great video memoir of a life well lived but also a testament to hard work and a can-do attitude; skill will only get you so far in life, it takes continued effort to maintain a twenty year pro career and that's something P-Rod has in spades!
