Neil Blender Crossfire Interview
Few people have shaped and inspired skateboarding like Neil Blender. From pushing the idea of fun over competition to being the first real ‘Skate artist’, from founding Alien Workshop alongside Chris Carter and Mike Hill to being the inventor of numerous skateboarding tricks - very few people will ever be able to hold a torch to Neil Blender.
The phrase “your favourite skater’s favourite skater” is often bandied about. Well, Neil is that skater’s favourite skater – put simply he is the man. Whilst the likes of Hawk, Mullen, Gonz and Natas were pushing the boundaries of what could physically be done, Neil was on a different plane altogether and is rightly held in the highest regard. The idea of skateboarding as a creative way of life is because of him.
The guys over at Crossfire have seemingly done the impossible and managed to secure an interview with the legend himself. Don’t let his humble answers fool you; skateboarding would be a very different place if it were not for Neil Blender.
