Lola Tambling Qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympic Games
Lola's Road to Paris
We have an Olympian in our midst…
We are so hyped and unbelievably proud to share the incredible news that one of our own, Lola Tambling, has qualified for the 2024 Games in Paris following the Olympic Qualifier Series that took place over the weekend in Budapest.
Following a disappointing head injury that wrote her out of contention at the first leg of qualifiers in Shanghai, Lola had plenty of points banked from a series of fantastic performances throughout the year and came back swinging in Hungary to secure her spot on the world’s stage. She’ll be heading to the Women’s Park event in Paris ranked 17th place but, with a level playing field in the summer, will be confident that she can push for the podium with a win at the British Championships and 6th place at the World Championships already under her belt.
Joining Lola draped in the Union Jack, Britain’s youngest medalling Olympian Sky Brown also qualified for the Women’s Park event, putting injuries woes on hold as she powered through a serious MCL injury to clutch second place in Budapest. Bringing Britain’s total competitors to 3 (plus one on Tokyo’s Olympic Games), serious vert skating legend Andy MacDonald also qualified for the Men’s Park event, making him the oldest Olympic Skateboarding competitor to date.
With the Olympic Qualifier Series done and dusted and every competitor accounted for, we can’t wait to see what unfolds in Paris! As expected, we’ll be backing Lola and co. to bring home the glory for the United Kingdom and look forward to seeing some crazy skating!
