Jamie Foy: The Route One Interview
Well, we proper snuck this one in, didn't we! Having seen Jamie hanging around Hackney's Copperbox arena for Street League back in May, we were desperate to get a chance to sit down with him and chat before he had to jump on a plane and fly back to the States. Just as we thought all hope was lost and we were about to settle down to watch the finals, Jamie popped by to say hello and the rest, as they say, is history!
Subject to quite possibly the most meteoric rise in skateboard history, Jamie went from largely unknown am to Thrasher 'Skater of the Year' in under 12 months, and won himself a huge army of fans along the way. Down to earth and humble to a fault, whilst the Deathwish pro is undoubtedly one of the most talented rippers out there today, his fame and fortune hasn't changed him one bit. Still hanging with his mates, still bringing his mum on holiday and still fanning out on Tom Penny; Big Boy Foy is one of us and we love him all the more for it!
Though we would have loved to have spent more time in his company, it wasn't to be on this occasion (those SLS finals wouldn't watch themselves you know) so this is a brief affair - but fear not, Jamie still manages to cover a multitude of topics and reassert himself as one of our all time favourites. What a beast!
