J.B. Gillet: The Route One Interview
Back in September a small patch of grass, home to the mini ramp behind the Route One warehouse, played host to the touring Jeremie Daclin and his band Cliché Skateboard company pros. Amongst their number was legendary French ripper Jean Baptiste Gillet and we were lucky enough to take up a few minutes of his time and ask him a few questions.
Born and raised in Lyon before emigrating to San Francisco at age 16, J.B. has seen and done it all; Offered deals with both AWS and World at the same time, being hand picked by Daewon, being banned from the states and then eventually ending up back under the Dwindle umbrella with Cliché. Few people can hold a candle to this steeziest of street technicians and the stories he tells are as interesting as they come.
Check back in two weeks’ time for our exclusive interview with J.B’s Cliché team mate and fellow Frenchman Lucas Puig.
