Introducing April Skateboards
Back in May of last year, when we first learned SLS was heading to London and we were going to be able to get the chance to speak to a few of the pro's in attendance, our immediate reaction was one of hoping we might be able to squeeze five minutes in with Shane O'Neill. A few calls back and forth with Nike SB confirmed Shane was indeed interested in having a chat with us and, before we knew it, we were scheduled in to meet him and Scuba Steve in Shoreditch's exclusive 'Ace' Hotel. It was on!
As always we had numerous interview ideas floating around our heads and a good few of these made it onto paper for the official questions but, to our shock, upon arrival we were immediately told Shane would talk about anything but unfortunately his then sponsor was off the table. After the cameras stopped rolling we carried on talking and, as the world was about to find out a few weeks later, Shane was leaving Primitive with hopes of starting something of his own.
Fast forward 12 months and April Skateboards is finally here! Launching the brand with an exclusive promo through Thrasher, Shane introduces us to the team and a creative direction that's truly his own. It's safe to say this is totally off the charts and wholly worth the 52 week wait!
Click play now and keep an eye out for the hard goods, we've got a feeling we're not going to need to be as patient this time around!
