Go Skate Day 2016
June 21st: The longest day of the year a.k.a. the Summer solstice, meaning all druids, hippies and everyone with a joss stick collection makes the trek down to Stonehenge to celebrate the annual solar event. It’s also international ‘Go Skateboarding Day’, meaning all the skateboarders in the world are out tearing it up and generally having a good time!
We were no different yesterday and, as you may well have seen in our Skate Team social media takeover, Dougy, Lois, Benson and Manhead spent the day in the north east skating, BBQing and enjoying the best of clement weather.
Preston Park in Eaglescliffe saw the brunt of the action, followed by flying visits to the insane Sadberge Reservoir and the legendary Hurworth Grange – obviously we sent our intrepid cameraman out with the guys and you can see the best of the day below. 2016 Go Skateboarding Day was a blast for the R1 guys, we hope it was for you too!
