Flo Mirtain 'En Passant'
It's a rare skill in this day and age to release a VX part and it not look like a poorly produced pastiche but Guillaume Colucci has pulled it out of the bag with this perfectly constructed clip of New Balance's Flo Mirtain.
And, to be fair, we're sure that's much to the relief of Flo himself. Word on the street has it that the decision to make this project "VX" was taken well after it had already gotten underway, meaning quite a bit had to be refilmed just to maintain the desired aesthetic. We're not sure how we'd feel about that if we were in his shoes, there'd likely be some pretty whiny phone calls and pleading to down grade the footage - the idea of having to do tricks again would definitely be to our chagrin!
But it was entirely worth it in the end. The Hotel de Ville lines are filmed to perfection, the colour grading is on point through out and the whole thing evokes that timeless beauty VX footage can, on those rare occasions that it is done right. It also helps that Flo's skating is utterly faultless too!
