Element in Barcelona
Everyone knows Barcelona is the best place on earth for skateboarding. Of course Southern California has the history and SF has the hills, NYC has the hip factor and China has the marble but, for the balance of everything, Barca simply cannot be beat. The spots are seemingly infinite in number, the climate is temperate, the beaches are beautiful and the cervezas are cheap. We all know Barcelona has it all and, at this stage in the game, you'd be hard pressed to find a skateboarder who hasn't been.
But that's kind of the problem; how do you make a trip there look interesting on video? Sure you and your mates have the time of your life supping street beers at Macba but that doesn't cut it for big teams hitting up the city; stepping outside the comfort zone has to be the order of the day.
So it's interesting to see that Element have some how managed to take a small selection of the team to the Catalan capital and not only avoid the pitfalls of a million and one other Barca edits but some how make the clip essential viewing. Truth be told we actually thought they might manage the holy grail and be able to produce a BCN vid without a single bit of Paral lel, Macba or Fondo; whilst that wasn't to be they still fit in plenty of unseen Spanish gems and also that gorilla grip bench clearance from Nick Garcia that everyone was sharing on insta last week. Absolutely mental, give it a watch now!
