"Waiting For Lightning"
On Tuesday evening the good people at DC invited us to the UK premiere of the eagerly awaited feature length Danny Way documentary "Waiting For Lightning".
The event kicked off in style with a VIP drinks reception at The Penthouse, Leicester Square. An open bar, sushi and spectacular views over London were soaked up by the guests then it was a quick stroll round the corner for the movie itself.
The skaters usual home of the Prince Charles Cinema was of course the only venue for this kind of event and as usual was a rowdy who's-who of UK skateboarding. After a quick introduction from both Danny (downstairs) and the movie's writer Bret Johnston (upstairs) everyone was super hyped.
The movie is both emotional and breath-taking showing what a true legend Danny Way has become and his extraordinary achievements on and off a skateboard. This guy is up there with the likes of Travis Pastrana and Matt Hoffman as a modern day Evel Knievel, seeming intent on pushing the boundaries of what is possible on four small wheels.
Despite the jet lag Danny was in fine form and willing to chat to everyone who passed by him in the cinema lobby - even donning a "CRVWKD" tee for photos!
Then it was all off to Madame JoJo's for the after-party courtesy of Monster.
