Chris Haslam: The Route One Interview
Over the course of the past twelve months we have been fortunate to interview many outstanding & interesting skateboarders; from the boundless energy of Lizard King to the youthful exuberance of Sage Elsesser and Sean Pablo, from the wise words of Dennis Busenitz to the utmost in professionalism Paul Rodriguez. A year that started with our three part series with Gino Ianucci and only a couple of weeks featured our exclusive Rodney Mullen chats now ends with one of our favourite interviewees to date: Mr Chris Haslam.
Great Britain holds a very soft spot in Almost Pro Chris’ heart, with his mother hailing from Scunthorpe and his father the other side of the Pennines in Morcambe, Chris’ lineage is as British as they come and he shares his feelings towards his parental homeland right at the start of our talk.
The conversation then ranges everywhere from how a simple dork trick altered his entire approach to filmmaking, the moment when not drinking enough water nearly cost him his life and how Instagram has completely changed ‘the game’.
Globe Pro Chris Haslam is one of the most genuine souls you are ever likely to meet on this journey the plank of wood and four wheels is taking you and we couldn’t think of a nicer guy to round off 2015!
Merry Christmas!
