Aaron Meza 'Heckride' Interview
Feb 2021

If you haven't paid much attention to the 'behind the scenes' of the skateboard industry up until now the name Aaron Meza might not mean that much to you. But that doesn't mean he hasn't had a massive impact on your day to day life with his involvement in just about every facet of modern-day skateboarding.
Born and raised in SF's Bay Area, Aaron has literally been around for it all. From filming James Kelch and Mike Carroll at EMB when street skating was still in its infancy, having a stint as editor of the Skateboard Mag right through to his role at Girl (which included the launch of Crailtap and the birth of daily irreverent content we all take for granted in 2021), Meza has been at the centre of everything.
No stranger to interviews, it's easy to delve into his back catalogue of work through chats with the Nine Club, Theories of Atlantis, Vice and more. But if you're the type who's never really rummaged through the history books of our sacred pastime then may we suggest this 'hot of the press' Heckride piece as the perfect introduction to all things Meza. It's brief, keeps it light and most of all concentrates on some of his more recent exploits - it certainly isn't the boring ramblings of an old man recanting tales from before you were born!
