20 Years: The History Of Chocolate Skateboards
Last year Girl Skateboards celebrated their twentieth anniversary and now, 12 months later, it’s the turn of sister company Chocolate.
Formed in 1994 as a vehicle for then World Industries rider Chico Brenes, the company has become synonymous with the most stylish skaters ever to grace a board; Think Chico, Gino, MJ, Keenan, Kenny Anderson – the company’s roster is a who’s who of the purveyors of the most beautiful skateboarding of all time.
This interview/lookback piece was filmed in and around the 20th anniversary art show and features some wonderful insights into the history of the brand alongside archive footage from the past two decades. Those of you interested in the history of our beloved pastime need to set aside seven minutes of your day to take this in – it’s an absolute must see!
