20 Years of Nike SB - Girls Night
This weekend saw the opening of the "20 Years of Nike SB" exhibition in celebration of the brand's anniversary. Curated by Juergen Bluemlein, founder of Skateboard Museum and co-author of Made For Skate, the exhibition showcased the most iconic and coveted Nike SB footwear from the past 20 years.
On Friday, the exhibition opened its doors to the public, displaying the journey of Nike SB; from the iconic boxes, to the various collaborations with major names and new design technology which Nike champion so fiercely.
However, the venue came alive on Friday evening at the Girls Night, which saw women skateboarders from across the country come together to celebrate, including members of our very own team, namely Team Manager Rianne Evans, Amy Ram, Lorn Geddes, Emily Hicks and Mia Tomasoli.
Alongside the exhibition, the Girls Night included a 'Girls Room' with a gallery of photos celebrating women in skateboarding, artwork by Eloise Dorr, two screenings from Nazari Sisters and Savannah and a raffle arranged by Girl Skate UK with prizes such as Girl Skate UK goodie bags and a weekend skate trip. The final prize was donated by ourselves; a Golden Key to the Route One ARCH1VE to win your favourite pair of Dunks! And it was @christana.ca who claimed the prize!
As well as the raffle prize, for each night of the exhibition we gave away a Golden Key to one lucky winner who entered through the QR code on our 'What the Paul' and 'Grateful Dead' exhibits. Congratulations to @ashliedon, @kirikatboutique and @o.d_realla on winning! We hope you love the Dunks as much as we do.
Thanks to Nike SB and Skateboard Museum for a fantastic night and happy 20 years! Here's to 20 more!
